Grafton UB2
Grafton is the "Own Brand" of Andy Perkins Banjo works in Kent and is of a higher quality than the Dae Won dub 1 and 2's that I was looking at. This is how it is described on the manufacturers website:- This banjo is assembled in the UK from well-designed imported parts - now a blend of the classic Dallas "A" and Gibson UB2 designs. It has an 8” x 0.5” stained maple rim with an archtop tone ring and chrome-plated metalwork - 16 tension brackets and an Elton tailpiece. It is fitted with a Remo head. The neck is quite shallow with a 37mm wide bound stained rosewood fingerboard. The scale length is 13.4” with 15 frets.~
My neck is much nicer than the Dae Won's, (the publicity photo has a different, more ordinary neck), particularly the fret markers and the whole package feels substantial. |
